Multiple Sexual Harassment Cases Filed Against Natural Grocers
Together with co-counsel, Conway Legal today filed multiple lawsuits against Natural Grocers alleging systematic sexual harassment and retaliation involving female employees who worked at its retail store in St. George, Utah. The lawsuits were filed in federal district court in Denver, Colorado. According to the lawsuits, one of the store’s managers created a hostile work environment by sexually harassing female employees in the store over the course of several years. The harassment involved improper and inappropriate physical conduct and verbal statements, as well as showing at least one sexually explicit video, and occurred on a near-weekly basis. The women who filed the lawsuits allege that Natural Grocers was aware of the harassment and, following a belated investigation, were targeted and, ultimately, terminated by Natural Grocers for reporting the harassment. The lawsuits allege that Natural Grocers violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and seeks damages for, among other things, lost wages and emotional distress.
